I got rid of cable television about a year ago and I haven’t looked back since. There are so many alternatives to paying for cable television.

After years of paying the cable company $180+ per month, I decided to get rid of the television portion of my bill.  That decision has saved me over $100/ month. If you look at it from a long term savings perspective, I’m saving $1200/yr.  That’s $1200 I can use toward paying down debt!

Some of the basic questions I had around “Cutting the Cord” or “Cord-cutting” are:

  • How can I watch television in HD?
  • How can I watch sports?
  • How can I watch television shows that are only available when you purchase cable television?
  • How can I do all of this with a minimal amount of money to spend?
